Klagén, not drágen!

You know that feeling? Those days when everything seems to be against you and you hear yourself sighing, grumbling or maybe even complaining out loud. Although we are not supposed to complain but bear it, sometimes it can be a huge relief to let go of the complainer in you.

Release the complainer
For example, when you are dealing with sky-high expectations or everyday frustrations. The other day, for instance, I felt really pathetic because I did a household crap job for the umpteenth time that day and then also without any kind of applause or recognition! Recognisable? Then give the complainer in you free rein. This can be a huge relief!

Encourage your complainer
Give that voice inside you room to let loose. Even ask yourself counter questions to get it all the way out: "Oh yeah, how bad? And what else do you have to complain about?" Let it flow! You can also complain by writing. Grab pen and paper and write down all your annoyances. Turn it into a complaining monologue, as long as you like.

Find humour in complaining
Need inspiration? I was immediately reminded of Brigitte Kaandorp's song: I have a very tough life. It is a reminder that humour is a powerful way to create light in your heaviness. Laugh at yourself, at the situation, and discover how complaining can bring you one step closer to relief. Think of it as a way to release tension. And who knows, after the complaining session you may feel space to move on with fresh courage.
